For some reason, my GameBoy emulator, Visual Boy Advance, can't recognize the save data. I am trying to play Pokémon with my save data. (the original Game Boy Classic series.)

Try renaming the .srm file to .sav before launching the emulator...

The latest firmware (available since yesterday) can even write the save data back to the cart.

When I first got my Retrode I copied my save file (from the 90s) off of it and started a new game. I didn't realize at the time I couldn't write it BACK to my game so I had been sitting on it with the intentions of putting it back once the proper firmware came out.

My problem now. I'm trying to transfer the PokemonBlue.srm file back to the game but it's not working right. Everything looks like it copies correctly (simply copying/pasting in Windows XP) but the game itself is still the new one I created and not the one I tried to copy over.

Am I doing something wrong? There any kind of trick to it?

Once again all I'm doing is copy/pasting the file back onto the device using the GB adapter. I'm dying to play my original game on my Game Boy again so please let me know what you can do to help. Thanks!

-- I've got the latest firmware installed. I searched around a little and tried typing in the following command but I receive an "Access is denied" error acting like it's read only:

type c:\pokemonblue.srm > d:\pokemonblue.srm

-- If I delete the file through Windows it looks like it deletes, but the save is still on the game when I pop it in a GB. I found out I can hold B+select+up on the Pokemon title screen and erase my game save. Now I have no save, it doesn't have a "continue" option proving this, yet when I try to transfer my save back onto the game itself it's still not working. Any help would be hardcore appreciated

-- I saw in my .cfg file it said sramReadonly was enabled (1) so I changed to a 0, saved, confirmed it saved, sadly it didn't make a difference. Thought that would be it grr

-- I'm going to make a new thread just in case
