Retrode doesn't read Brain Lord SRM

I have a Brain Lord cartridge that plays and saves on a SNES. Retrode doesn't read the save correctly, it shows all Fs in a hex editor. Reads and copies the Brain Lord ROM fine, but not the save.

I found a previous topic where another user had trouble reading a 7th Saga save. My guess is the Retrode doesn't correctly map the Enix SHVC-2J3M-01 and SHVC-23JM-11 boards (no idea what it's doing wrong, though), which would mean it also affects Robotrek and Secret of Mana. I tried toggling the config settings but didn't really know what I was doing, and couldn't get it to read Brain Lord's SRAM as anything other than Fs.

How can I get the Retrode to read the Brain Lord SRM?
