I know next to nothing about electronics so I was wondering, how do you solve RGB shifting issue which is plagued by all retro consoles?
What it does is, it causes a 1 inch bar to appear on one side of the screen, in my case it's on the left side, when running my Megadrive via SCART. :o
Its always a sold colour, and ruins the experience, when trying to play retro games on a modern LCD screen.
I am stumped on how to fix this issue, any help would be greatly appreciated. From my understanding it's caused by a signal conversion issue, from Composite > RGB these two signals don't align which is what causes the shift. \
Correct me if I'm wrong but that's my understanding of it. If there is a cable which fixes the issue, it would be great to get a hold of. The strange thing is, that it happens in all games, but on the SEGA screen it disappears, or at least not visible, also in Phantasy Star 3's save selection screen it also does the same there too.
Not entirely sure because I am still a bit new to console repair, but my guess is go in and replace all the electrolytic capacitors in the system. They are past their expected lifespan by now anyway and are known to cause audio and video issues.
