Title: General controller problem
Post by: mrfrosty on 01/Feb/2012 08:39:28 AM
hi,

i'm running the retrode on my macbook pro (os x lion 10.7.2) and i'm using kega fusion for sega-games and bsnes for supernintendo-games. everything works fine, the retrode mounts on my desktop, i can load the files into the emulator. they work. but i can't use any controller i have (original snes-controller and original sega genesis-controller). i can access the controller settings in kega fusion but i simply don't know what to do. in bsnes i have no access to controller settings. i have to say i haven't used emulator before, so i'm quite new to this. but i thought with the retrode i could just plug and play.

i'd appreciate any tips, thanks in advance.

You have to update your stock firmware with this experimental one ... it's working for me in 10.6.8 :

Here is an how to:

I suggest to use the windows one, is more simple and fast. Works well under Parallels Desktop.

Thanks aaale for your quick first aid. Sadly, I haven't been able to reproduce any of those problems with HID controllers under Snow Leopard. I have snes9x and Fusion both working with the Retrode's standard USB gamepad mode without the slightest complaint. Anyway, the keyboard mode [HIDMode] 3 in the experimental v0.17c should fix it for everyone.
