Title: Game gear plug in - - removing cart slot
Post by: HowlingBlue on 05/Sep/2016 05:07:54 PM
Howdy everyone,

I recently obtained a broken Game Gear for the purpose of salvaging its cart slot. I have it broken down all the way to the main board, but now I am stuck.

There appear to be two metal eyelets/rivets that reinforce the slot. I can't figure out how to remove them without damaging the outer plastic frame. (It appears that the official MS plug in leaves notches for the plastic frame to attach to, otherwise I would just take a Dremel to the frame.)

Can anyone give me some tips about how to finish detaching the slot?

Thanks for any help,
-Vince K.

Update: I figured a way to do it. I took a pair of needle nose pliers to the crimped side until I could pull the eyelets out.
