Does anybody else find that when moving the Retrode when connected to a computer the signal can be interrupted causes the device to unmount or disconnect and then reconnect?
Am I putting stress on the connector and or circuit board when moving the Retrode with a cable plugged in?
As far as I can see this is an issue with the connection at the Mini-B USB connector end. So I was thinking that perhaps in future versions use of a larger USB connector (Standard-B type?) might avoid this sort of issue?
Thoughts appreciated.

I doubt that would help. In my experience its the Standard B type connectors that are more likely to fall out with movement.

The issue here isn't that the connector is falling out but that some part of it is being affected by the movement and breaking the connection. My thoughts are that a more substantial connector or socket might prevent movement?
Anyway, that's beside the point. Is anybody else seeing broken connection during movement?
Never heard of any problems, but the assembly company mentioned at some point that the SMD footprint doesn't fit the connector perfectly. Your unit could be a rare case where one of the pins isn't actually soldered onto the board. In that case, you could either try to fix it (it's fiddly but not impossible if you've done SMD before), or we'd replace your unit.

Can I check or confirm this without opening the unit? Is it visible from through the cartridge slot?
My latest on this is that it could be a fault with the side USB port on my old laptop. On my Desktop there are no issues.
I will keep this thread updated with my findings.
Mark this as resolved, it was definitely a port issue.
