Title: SRAM bigger than ROM File?
Post by: Pat1986 on 12/Apr/2012 05:28:32 PM
Hi there,

i'm just about to dump every game i own. Now with "Wonderboy In Monsterworld" for the Megadrive, the SRAM file (1024kb) is much bigger than the romfile (768kb). is this ok?

EDIT: Hm, doesn't seem to be ok, the sram won't be recognized by any emulator. But it's still ok, as it's working nicely on real hardware.

To my knowledge the WBMW cartridge does not have any SRAM but uses EEPROM instead, which is not supported as of now. But in general, you are right that the SRM file shouldn't be bigger than the ROM. Occasionally, the ROM header just provides wrong data.

Heya, just wanted to see if there was any update on the Retrode being able to dump these types of saves? I'm up to the last level on WBIMW and I wanted to back it up.

Cheers,

Evan
