Help dumping N64 carts that refuse to dump correctly even after cleaning

Basically what the title says. I own a Retrode and every adapter for it, and I LOVE being able to legally play all my Nintendo/Genesis games on PC and Phone!

However, there's a few N64 cartridges I have that won't dump correctly, even after I clean all the gunk off their connectors:

Starfox 64
Killer Instinct Gold
War Gods
Donkey Kong 64
California Speed
NFL Blitz
NFL Blitz 2000
Banjo-Tooie

The rest of my N64 collection dumped correctly and work great in emulators. Once again, it's these 8 that are giving me trouble. Any ideas on how to get them dumped the right way?

P.S. Yes the carts still work perfectly on a real N64.

First, check the voltage.

Also, check if the contacts of the plug-in (edge and slot) and Retrode are clean as well.

If that didn't fix it, please give us more details about the broken dumps. For example, do the file names look correct? If you look at the dumps with a hex editor, does the data look absolutely random? Or is it all 00/FF?

You might also try and find some info about the games. Maybe you just need to force the right size.

Thank you for helping me out.

Changing the voltage switch did the trick, for the most part. All the cartridges on the aforementioned list dumped correctly now except for one: NFL Blitz, which refuses to dump correctly even after thoroughly cleaning the connectors.

It looks like it dumped correctly; Its ROM name is "NflBlitz.NBZE.n64", which matches the other ROM names, and when I looked at it via HEX Editor, all the data looked random. So I don't know what's wrong now.

Did you try forceSize? Googling the ROM size brought up 16 MBytes for NFL Blitz, that would be "[forceSize] 16" (N64 forceSize unit is MBytes).

If your 16 MB ROM still isn't working: The "HxD" hex editor has a statistics function showing a graph of how frequent each value is in the file. Try comparing the graphs of your working ROMs to that of NFL Blitz. Some will look noisier than others, but all working ROMs should have some rather regularly distributed peaks.

Look closely at the graph of NFL Blitz. Can you find anything unusual?
